The PAN card, which is a 10-character permanent account number (PAN), issued by the Income Tax Department, is one of today’s most important documents. Individuals and entities can also apply for a PAN card to prevent tax evasion. It records all financial transactions made through an entity or person. A PAN Card can be obtained by Indian nationals.
Pan Card and Aadhar Card Link
The Income Tax Department also provided important information. People have been aware for some time that they can link their PAN card to an Aadhaar Card. These PAN card holders have a few more months to link their PAN cards with Aadhar cards.
The Income Tax Department tweeted: ‘As per Income Tax Act 1961, the last date to link PAN with Aadhaar for all PAN holders that do not fall under the exemption category is March 31, 2023. PAN will be inactive if it isn’t linked with Aadhaar. To prevent the PAN card becoming inactive, you can link it to the Aadhaar card. You have another four months to do this.

The Income Tax Department also stated that any PAN holders not falling under Notification No. 37/2017 dated May 11, 2017 are required to link their Aadhaar card with PAN card as soon as possible. 37/2017, dated May 11, 2017 and have not linked their Aadhaar to their PAN are asked to do so as soon as possible. Those who have a valid Aadhaar card and a PAN can link the two at www.incometax.gov.in for a charge of Rs 1000.
